The Jam to end all Jams

Warren Haynes presents the 18th Annual Christmas Jam at the Asheville Civic Center on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. This year's performers include: Dave Matthews, Gov't Mule, The John Popper Project featuring DJ Logic, New Orleans Social Club, Taj Mahal Trio, Mike Barnes, Col. Bruce Hampton, Kevn Kinney, Branford Marsalis, Dave Schools and many, many more. Tickets have been sold out for weeks, so if you want to get in, you'll have to pay -- a lot. Based on a brief survey of eBay, the ticketless masses can expect ticket resellers (aka scalpers) to charge at least $100 per ticket prior to the show, and perhaps as much as $200 per ticket on the day. (Chances are that the scalpers aren't exactly donating their proceeds to Habitat, so buy wisely.) For those that won't be able to make it to the big Jam, there's yet another option, Warren Haynes Presents: The Pre-Jam, which takes place Friday, Dec. 15, at the Orange Peel. At press time, a limited number of tickets to the Pre-Jam were available for $100 each through the Christmas Jam Web site (xmasjam.com), but these will almost certainly be sold out by the day of the show (expect to pay at least $200 from scalpers). And for those who can't make it at all, the Pre-Jam wil be broadcast live on WNCW (88.7 FM). For more information, visit www.xmasjam.com.
