PRESS RELEASE FROM ASHEVILLE MOVEON.ORG
The Asheville Council of MoveOn.org will stage a Speak Out Protest, featuring street theatre and an open podium for attendees, in Pritchard Park on Tax Day, April 18, at 4:30 p.m.

The event will highlight the inequity of millions of lower and middle-income citizens dutifully paying their taxes that day while well-connected corporations dodge theirs.

The event will feature a Speak Out for ordinary citizens to tell how this imbalance is impacting their lives. It will also feature a five-minute Street Theatre presentation.

The tax protest event will culminate with a march to a national bank near Pritchard Park—one of the many major corporations which paid zero in taxes in 2009—to deliver an outsized tax bill.
