Palin, Palin, Palin, Palin, Palin, Palin, Palin, Pa ... what’s that? There’s something else going on in the blogworld besides Palin this week? Yeah we know the BlogAsheville Awards polls are open, but there’s something else too, like everyday life-like activity.

Adventures of Supermom is watching her kid FREAK OUT! on commercials.

Blue Ridge Dreams is bringing in the harvest.

Restless Mama is being treated politely at the supermarket.

Artseen Asheville is rationalizing the artistic cigarette.

Jennifer Saylor nearly bled to death. (Not really. And we’re really thinking about a collection of blogger injury stories.)

Someone’s hiding the sex-ed books, but Nice Marmot is on the case.

Blue Ridge Blue Collar Girl is finding messages in her lawn while A Sort of Notebook eats the frou- frou burger.

And Asheville Beer Blog is making sure we are filled in on Brewgrass.

Keep on L-I-V-I-N.

      2) There is no such thing as price gouging.

What do you think about the republican govt using a bit of socialistic capitalism to bail out the economy?

      I think it stinks!

      As said on my blog...

"Say goodbye to the Free Market. If I was the getting drunk type...I would go and get rip-roaring drunk over this deadly blow to Capitalism. The government will now take away the freedom to fail, and disrupt the market so that the true value of these investments cannot be known...just as they have the health care system, education system and the job market."

[...] Right now this crisis is being sold to the American public by the left as evidence the failure of the free market and capitalism. Not so. What we’re seeing is the inevitable result of political interference in free market economics...

    • I for one would rather have seen the 700 billion or whatever go into bailing out the american people with their healthcare and let AIG be damned for their sorry buisness practices. It is the insurance industry that is getting the US into problems and they need a complete overhaul (or ass whuppin). I am so sick of gambling on insurance and when you get hurt or need help they hem and haw so much you can never get your benefits.

Yea, things were so much better in the 1880-1920's. Back then you could chain a child to a machine for 60 hours a week, and charge them for the time they lost when they had a finger or arm lopped off. Ah, yes those were the days! We need more unfettered laissez faire capitalism to cure us of the evils of social justice and equality.

If only Ron Paul had had the wisdom to run as a Libertarian...he would be sitting pretty right now as a third choice with millions of supporters.

I'd rather see Health Savings Accounts and Personal Retirement Accounts that we managed ourselves...or the ability to opt out altogether.

      shadmarsh:

That reminds me...back in the 80's I was working in a factory in Frankln, and a guy had a heart attack and fell over at his machine. While me and another guy were doing CPR, the owner walked by us and clocked all three of us out. I haven't been back.
