Local teen rockers Skinny Legs and All are creating a buzz with their updated renditions of blues and rock favorites. The band is having a CD release party Saturday at the Garage at Biltmore. It's also a fundraiser for their upcoming trip to Memphis -- the band will be representing the local Southern Fried Blues Society in the International Blues Challenge. Blues mama Peggy Ratusz and The Daddy Longlegs Band will be guests at the Saturday show.
On Saturdays throughout December, downtown men's and women's clothing store Hunk (9 W. Walnut St.) will be like a little party with DJs, microbrews and discounts from 6 to 9 p.m. This Saturday, Sys-ex brings ambient, minimal tech and sci-fi sounds and Bruisin Ales provides Pisgah Organic IPA.
On Sunday, don't forget to come party with the Best of WNC showcase at the Orange Peel! We won't keep you out too late, we promise. It's a don't-miss night of music, food, fashion, community and a whole lot more...expect surprises...
And on Monday, catch a sneak peek of sacred steel ensemble The Lee Boys on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Mere days later, they'll be in Asheville for the Christmas Jam.
