From antique bullets dating back to the Revolutionary War to hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns, dog tags, collectable coins and more, the bi-annual Land of the Sky Gun Show enjoyed a record-breaking turnout. An estimated 2,000 buyers marched through the doors of the Asheville Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 24, with many more following on Sunday.

Was the "record-breaking turnout" due to people's fear of Obama taking their guns away?

*Did any reporters talk to folks on the ground?*
To answer your question, PFKaP, yes, I was able to talk with folks at the gun show and hear their thoughts on why this was an especially successful show. I gathered that there is a growing concern that the new Democratic administration will place stronger restrictions and regulations on firearm and ammunition sales. Concerns centered on possible tax increases and on the possibility of increased regulations when it comes to selling specific types of guns (such as semi-automatic guns like AK-47s).
Here are a few articles about the increase in firearm sales across the nation:

my young son & i had parked in the civic center garage to run about town saturday. we were more than frightened when it was time to go & we were sitting trying to exit the garage in a long line while tons of men circled around with large rifles & handguns. guess it is better to be able to see them then to know they are concealed but i'll be sure to watch for the next one so we can stay away from gun mania...

I'm more frightened by cars than guns, myself. Especially unconcealed, unloaded guns.
