Here's the deal on Yonder Mountain, from Ann at Red Light Management:
The Yonder Mountain String Band, whose “Sepia-toned Americana … clean harmonies and breathtaking fretwork” (Metroland) have wowed fans and critics across the country ... They’ll be performing music from their new studio album The Show, a rollicking 13-song showcase for their unique rock-inflected style of modern bluegrass, released Sept. 1 on Frog Pad Records. Jeff Austin (mandolin), Ben Kaufmann (bass), Dave Johnston (banjo) and Adam Aijala (guitar) fill their set lists with fan favorites from their 10-year deep catalogue and inventive covers of some of their favorite songs by bands like David Byrne, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and more.
"The pickers from Colorado had the audience dancing and shaking, kicking up a joyful storm of dust into the cool summer sky." — CNN

I thought there was a preponderance of fun people in town today. Totally spaced that Yonder was here.

Jeebus don't know up from down. The Yonder boys are fabulous, and last night's rousing performance was just what the doctor ordered to combat February's bleakness. Looking forward to another great time at the Peel tonight.

Yonder Mtn has turned into the Dave Matthew's Band of bluegrass. They once were cool and now they suck. The shows used to be filled with real bluegrass fans and now it's just a bunch of pop radio listening high school brats who think bluegrass makes them cool and different. It's a complete and utter dissapointment now.
