What a difference $2.5 million makes. In June, the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners rejected an agreement with the city of Asheville to combine 911 services based on a provision that the county pay the city $2.5 million if it decides to dissolve the partnership.
Now, the county is poised to vote on a new agreement, one that eschews the $2.5 million rider, opting instead for a revised division of 911 funding.
The commissioners will also consider the expansion of the wastewater pre-treatment system at its landfill and the installation of a gas-to-energy generator there.
