Do the opponents of voting for commissioners by district want to use the same "logic" to vote for U.S. House of Representatives — by the whole country rather than by state?
Why should the people in Arden get to vote for a representative from Leicester?

The "opponents of voting for commissioners by district" (or Democrats) object to central planning in North Carolina but they love it in Washington, D.C. What gives?

Gantt and the democrat party are whining because their stranglehold on the county gov'ment is coming to an end. Of course timpeck is correct. The democrats are all for "central planning" as long as they are in power. And come to think of it, the primary reason we are in so much trouble as a country is because we have way too many politicians (like Gantt) who are in it for the "power". We need citizen politicians, not lawyers, representing us. Hats off to Rep Moffitt for having the vision, the courage to take on the tired old crooked democrat establishment and make the Buncombe County Commissioners actually represent the whole county. Thank God!
