    • Salsa's, Modesto & Chorizo Restaurants would like to announce:
ASHEVILLE, NC, January 27, 2010 - We are very pleased and proud to announce Hector Diaz, local restaurateur and native to the Caribbean, is donating 100% of retail sales from food sold in all 3 of his restaurants on Thursday, February 4, 2010. 100% of the food sales will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and earmarked for aide to children and victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF is able to absorb all associated administrative costs so that 100% of every dollar will support UNICEF's work for children in Haiti.

    • It's Good to see the reaction to this ongoing event in Haiti where today it's a hot issue, and just like 90,miles north of Haiti there is another ongoing event in the Gulf-Area.
It will take years to put things back in place.
And while it still hot,I would like to Thank all of Local Business/ Artist/Groups for not overlooking this issue at hand.
So feel free to help/sponsor a event that is willing to help the people of Haiti.

    • Hello my name is Brian Walker, and you have no idea who I am, but I have been reading the stories that you all do to help our world. I am truly and deeply inspired. I was emailing you in regards to ask if you could help me out with something, but if you cannot I completely understand.

From July 18 to July 24, 2010, God has offered me the chance to go to Haiti with my youth group from Burnt Hickory Church of Christ. This 7-day mission trip will involve work projects, earthquake clean-up, and reaching
out and spreading gospel to the Haitian people while also learning more about the people there and their culture. The exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my fellow youth group. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Haiti. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time, we need to raise $1,000 each to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge!

Another way you can be involved is to help provide that financial support. Would you consider supporting me with a donation? If you feel led to contribute, I will need to raise all my funds by July 10 in order to pay for airline tickets and other items. Please make checks payable to Burnt Hickory Church of Christ. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is greatly appreciated! I look forward to doing God's work in Haiti and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when I return in July.

      God Bless,
      Brian M. Walker
