Have you heard about Asheville Green Drinks? It's a networking party and part of a global grassroots movement that connects local communities with environmental ideas, media and action.
Worldwide, people who are interested in environmental issues and topics meet up for drinks and occasionally listen to an expert in environment, ecology and/or social justice. The Green Drinks phenomena features 738 different international cities hosting events featuring conversation, networking and education.
This Wednesday, June 8 at Posana Cafe, Scott Bunn, developmental director of the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, will give an overview of ASAP's mission and programs and talk about the upcoming Family Farm Tour. Socializing begins at at 5:30 p.m. and programming starts at 6 p.m.
ASAP helps create and expand local food markets that will preserve our agricultural heritage, give everyone access to fresh, healthy food, and keep our farmers farming. Their mission is to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food.
