From the local nonprofit Homeward Bound:
The Board of Directors of Homeward Bound has appointed Brian Alexander as their new Executive Director, replacing Fran Harvey who recently resigned. Brian will continue in the tradition of former directors who have advocated for and helped bring substantive change to countless homeless individuals in Asheville and Buncombe County. Brian has served Homeward Bound in many capacities over the last eight years, including Interim Executive Director and Deputy Director of Operations.
Homeward Bound will continue to lead the community’s nonprofit agencies in implementing the Asheville-Buncombe County 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. The A HOPE Center and the Pathways to Permanent Housing programs target chronically homeless individuals, assisting them in transitioning as quickly as possible from the streets and emergency shelters into safe, affordable permanent housing.
Homeward Bound looks forward to a day when the community sees housing as a basic human right, and will work with other organizations, businesses and individuals to attain this lofty but reachable goal. For more information about Homeward Bound, please visit our website at www.hbofa.org or call Brian Alexander at (828) 258-1695, ext. 3.Read the full article
