This Friday, June 18, George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead -- the maestro's sixth zombie movie -- opens at Carolina Cinemas, 1640 Hendersonville Road, Asheville. To celebrate the occasion, the fine (and presumably not really undead) folks of the Asheville Zombie Walk are getting together at the theater in full zombie drag at around 7 p.m. for the 7:20 p.m. showing of the film. They plan to shamble about and disconcert the populace as zombies are wont to do, and are inviting other zombies to join them in the mayhem. As a bonus, the first 25 people in zombie costume for this showing get free passes to the movie. Info: 274-9500.
