Ananda Hair Studio (22 Broadway St., 232-1017) doesn't just do great cuts and color. The downtown Asheville salon also regularly features artists and holds art openings — which range from two-dimensional exhibits to fashion and performance.

But this Saturday, June 26, brings something different: The salon has engaged five graffiti artists (three are local) to paint the inside of the hair studio. Furniture and equipment will be pushed aside and the artists will live-paint (the salon says they will use wet paint rather than spray paint) while an audience watches. The event also include refreshments (free beer!) and a DJ.
7-11 p.m., free.
