FROM EAGLES NEST
Whether a car enthusiast or a family looking for unique events in the mountains, hundreds of guests will flock to The Lodges at Eagles Nest from July 31 through August 1 for the Rock-n-Road Hill Climb event. A four-year tradition, it combines a vintage car show and uphill race with food and entertainment in Banner Elk, North Carolina, atop the Blue Ridge Mountains at 5,000 feet.
Festivities begin on Friday (July 30) with a car show in the Village of Banner Elk, where guests will gaze in amazement at the surrounding hills peppered with multi-color vintage and muscle cars shipped to the location from around the country. Saturday and Sunday (July 31-1), the races begin at Eagles Nest! Guests can enjoy local food while experiencing the adrenaline of the uphill race, which is designed to test the driver’s skill as well as the torque of the engine.
Partially benefiting the wildlife preserve at Eagles Nest, tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 10, which include admission for all activities and a BBQ lunch. For details on registering your own car for the show or race, please contact rsvp@eaglesnestbe.com or call 828.898.2422.
