Asheville's July 4th celebration moved to July 3rd at Memorial Stadium

The city's Independence Day celebration will not be on July 4 this year, but there are still plans for a patriotic party at a new location.

The show will go on July 3 at the city's Memorial Stadium, 32 Buchanan Place. The event, which brings thousands of people downtown each year, is expected to return to Pack Square Park in 2012.

Meanwhile, the city is moving forward with plans at the temporary location.
