At 3:30 pm, this Saturday, the Canary Coalition will begin a statewide campaign to establish an inverted utility rate structure in North Carolina. A presentation on utility rate restructuring will be unveiled in Classroom 1, at the Agricultural Center in Fletcher, during the Southern Energy and Environment Expo. The group is the largest and perhaps most influential grassroots organization in the state to focus on air quality issue advocacy.
Inverted utility rate structures are being used in numerous states and nations to dramatically reduce energy consumption by offering a powerful economic incentive for ratepayers to invest in efficiency and otherwise conserve energy. Read the full article
