Westville Pub's ComeTogether Fest and benefit for Helpmate, held on Sunday, Aug. 29 in the parking lot and courtyard behind the Bledsoe Building in West Asheville, was a "huge success," says Drew Smith, event organizer and pub employee. "And," continues Smith, "we're going to do it again next year, even bigger and better!" Featuring live music, a whoop-ass wing eating contest, beer, a dunking booth, raffle and activities for children, yesterday's festivities raised close to $2,000 in support of Helpmate's mission to work "with the community to eliminate abuse and fear.”
