News13 has learned a global manufacturer of auto parts will take over the old Volvo plant in south Asheville.
The governor is expected to make an official announcement in Asheville on Thursday at the Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting, and local officials won't confirm anything until then. But sources tell us the company is Canadian-based Linamar, a worldwide manufacturer of parts for engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
News13 also found several postings for Linamar jobs in Asheville, including one for "manufacturing engineers and process engineers for a new start-up plant in western North Carolina".
