Community Action Opportunities is pleased to announce the receipt of $25,000 from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. The Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves the 18-county mountain region by professionally managing charitable funds created by individuals and families, and by using those funds to make grants to local nonprofit organizations. This generous grant will allow Community Action Opportunities to provide the Empowerment Skills for Leaders curriculum to human service agency leaders across Western North Carolina. This "Best-Practice" Training empowers managers to create organizational structures that support staff in their work with families that are making changes necessary to become self-reliant.
