Got an email from the Mayor of Gastonia [Jennie Stutz]:
As Mayor of Gastonia, NC, I have the great honor of working hand in hand with a number of mayors throughout the state. Like proud parents, mayors share our cities’ successes and our best practices. Mayor Bellamy has been a role model in establishing programs for youth, veterans, and the homeless in growing a dynamically unique city. I love Asheville and enjoy every visit there. That is why I find it awkwardly disturbing to find it necessary to apologize for the unkind words uttered from the loose lips of a North Carolina Senator from my county. Out of respect for the strong affiliation Mayor Bellamy and I share, I am officially apologizing to all Ashevillians.

Too late. EVERY member of the General Assembly who votes to put this on the ballot AGREES with those comments no matter what they say now.
From the "Rime of the Ancient Mariner":
"The mariner kills the bird of good omen
His shipmates cry against what he's done
But when the fog clears, they justify him
And make themselves a part of the crime."
Sen. Apodaca's district INCLUDES Asheville! If he votes for this amendment he AGREES Asheville is a "cesspool of sin!"
Again, if THIS isn't an argument for term limits nothing is!
