It appears that 75 legislators are willing to pass the buck; or, are NOT willing to stand with the Constitution whereby all men are created equal with liberty and justice for all. It could also be a means to appease the religious right storm troopers like Focus on the Family, American Family Association, Catholic League, Baptist Convention and so on none of which can agree on religious matters other than on homosexuality and abortion. On all other religious matters most believe according to their chosen religion that the "others" are going to hell. It appears to me that the "Christian Taliban" has come to America. This marriage amendment is put forth for one reason only and that is religious belief. How much more religion does America need in our American government. Where will it stop? Who will decide which religious law and what religion's law should be mandated and sanctioned by our government in the future? What about Jewish religious law, Muslim religious law? Which religions religious law will decide man's law? Are Burka's for our women next? The tax free "Christian" kingdom of political activist organizations and megachurch bishops driving Bentley's will always pound the earth to extract their monetary kingdom on earth all the while the real meaning of "Christianity" suffers like the poor!
