The first ever Battle of the Brushes starts Thursday in Old Fort ...
It is an outdoor painting competition celebrating Old Fort and its landmarks. Today and Friday, artists will compete with each other to produce the paintings that best capture the town’s charm. Painting will be done outdoors, in and around Old Fort, within a five-mile radius of Town Hall.
Artists will have lots of subjects to choose from during the competition. They can paint pictures of “select locations ranging from historic homes, a replica pioneer fort, trout streams, waterfalls, wildflowers, a 19th century train depot, picturesque Andrews Geyser, the Royal Gorge or any spot among the thousands of protected acres in the Curtis Creek Recreation Area,” read a brochure for the event. ...Read the full article
