Goombay manager responds to allegations by some that they were not paid

...“Some workers were not paid immediately and some were given partial payments for service rendered,” Ronald R. King, the festival manager, said via email. “Workers were told we would pay the balance in a few weeks; therefore, as of Sept. 15, most workers have been paid. We had anticipated payment of certain expenses by the YMI and that did not materialize at the closing of Goombay, which in turn created this financial dilemma.” ...
