With the assistance of tips from the community, Asheville Police Detectives have been able to identify the suspect in this matter as Nathan Randall Miller, W/M, 05-21-58 from West Asheville.

Mr. Miller has been interviewed by APD Investigators and was arrested this date for one count of Assault on Female.

APD Seeks Community Assistance in Identifying Witnesses to Road Rage Incident

ASHEVILLE – On 9/16/11 at approx. 6:00 pm, a Road Rage and Assault took place on Brevard Road near the I-40 East on ramp. The victim, Cassie Wilke, was attempting to get onto I-40 when an unknown white male blew his horn at Ms. Wilke and made an obscene gesture. The unknown white male then got out of his vehicle and approached Ms. Wilke’s car in an aggressive manner. Ms. Wilke also got out of her vehicle and an altercation ensued between the unknown white male and Ms. Wilke.

The unknown white male struck Ms. Wilke several times with his fists until Ms. Wilke fell to the ground where she was struck several more times by the assailant. A white female who was in the vehicle with our suspect was able to stop the individual from beating Ms. Wilke any further.

The suspect was described as being in his 50’s; approx five foot eight inches tall and heavy set. He also had grey-reddish hair, and a grey-reddish beard. The suspect was wearing a red and blue plaid shirt and blue jeans.

He was driving an older model dark colored SUV. The front windshield had a very noticeable, large crack down the center of it.
