Asheville Citizen-Times reports:
The Bryson City Fire Department is under investigation by town officials and operations have been temporarily altered.
In addition, fire chief Joseph Hughes has resigned.
Officials today declined to discuss what spurred the investigation.
The fire station at 100 Main Street has been secured by local police, Bryson City Police assistant chief Greg Jones said. Two fire trucks from the department have been turned over to neighboring units temporarily to ensure continuity of emergency response, he said. ...Read the full article
