From the press release:
A-B Tech will hold a drop-in community open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the Coman Student Center for area residents to investigate the more than 65 programs offered at the College.

"Charting Your Course for Success" will give members of the community an opportunity to explore hands-on exhibits in courses of study ranging from the latest curriculum offerings in Healthcare Business Informatics and Sustainability Technologies to A-B Tech’s inaugural programs, Practical Nursing and Machining Technology. The College will also hold a drawing for five $200 prizes for tuition or Bookstore credit.

Instructors will be on hand to answer question about the programs, as well as current students. Departmental tours will be given throughout the evening along with information sessions covering admissions, financial aid, scholarships, transfer programs and the Allied Health Application process.

The open house will be followed by the College’s annual High School Visitation Day Friday, Sept. 30 where more than 700 high school students from four Western North Carolina school systems will learn about careers in various programs.

Designed to help members of the class of 2012 get to know A-B Tech, the event includes a Program Fair in the Coman Student Activity Center and tours of departments across campus. Activities will range from an interactive digital media demonstration that will allow students to manipulate digital photos of themselves to tastings of culinary delights prepared by the College’s award-winning Culinary Arts and Hospitality Department.

Students from the Asheville City, Buncombe, Madison and Haywood county school systems will begin the morning with a welcome in Ferguson Auditorium, and attend the Program Fair and tours between 9 and 11:30 a.m.
