A cold front swung through the area on Friday afternoon and began to usher in this early season chill. Temperatures Saturday morning across the Piedmont dropped well in to the 40s with a low temperature at The Piedmont Triad International Airport of 46 degrees. . .
Snow was reported falling in Beech Mountain, NC Friday night. Snow was also see in Boone Saturday as the cold, Canadian air continued to dive south and interact with the circulating moisture. Trees and other elevated surfaces through the northwest North Carolina mountains were covered with at least a dusting of snow Saturday morning.
More snow is expected in the mountains through Sunday with some locations, especially in West Virginia potentially seeing up to three inches of accumulation
