Jackson County real-estate investor Mark Meadows and Tea party Morganton businessman Vance Patterson announced they'll run in the Republican primary next year in a shot to unseat Democrat Rep. Heath Shuler in the 11th District.
The men join four other Republicans who have already pitched their hats into the Congressional race: retired U.S. Army intelligence office Spence Campbell (Hendersonville); opthamologist Dan Eichenbaum (Murphy); District Attorney Jeff Hunt (Brevard); economic-development consultant Chris Petrella (Spindale). The Republican primary will take place May 2012.

I love that we have up to the minute updates of Cecil Bothwell at Democracy for America's astroturf campaign, but the republicans also running for Congress in a primary (just like Cecil) get lumped together in one story.
It seems the only republican who gets up to the minute coverage from the MountainX is Chad Nesbitt. Wonder why that is?
