In commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the TEAM Estate Sales will be holding an Appraisal Fair Fundraiser for The American Cancer Society at their building at 3697 Asheville Hwy. in Mountain Home, NC, on Saturday, October 15th, from 1pm - 4pm during their Fall Extravaganza Estate Sale .

Richard Hatch, well-known, local appraiser and auctioneer of Flat Rock, NC, will be at the TEAM‚s October Estate Sale Extravaganza on Saturday, October 15th from 1 pm until 4 pm ready to appraise your treasures. Bring your family heirlooms and discover their true value. Mr. Hatch has appeared on PBSs Treasures in Your Attic and has been an auctioneer for 28 years. Items will be appraised for a nominal charge of $10 per item (maximum 3 items per person). Your entire donation will be given to the American Cancer Society. Over the past two years, the TEAM lost several of their friends and customers to cancer; in addition, one of their main TEAM members received treatment for breast cancer herself. It is the TEAM‚s wish that all money raised will go to support cancer research, prevention, and treatment.

This fundraiser will take place during the TEAM‚s October, 2011, Estate Sale Extravaganza. This huge sales event open to the public features over 10,000 Œfresh-to- market‚ treasures that are all priced to sell in four days. Shoppers have enjoyed these sales for six years in the 4000 square foot building referred to as the Extravaganza Center located at 3697 Asheville Hwy. (Rt.25), Mountain Home, NC. When the doors open at the start of each sale, the building is stuffed and stacked with an overwhelming assortment of treasures. Routinely, a sale will offer antique furniture, china, silver, jewelry, paintings, sculptures, lighting, pottery, rugs, books, toys, tools, crafts, contemporary pieces, and collectibles. There‚s literally something for everyone; prices for the wide variety of merchandise range from items tagged for less than a dollar to antiques priced at several thousand dollars. All Extravaganzas have a four-day format, each day of the sale having its own features. The October sale will open on Friday, October 14th. Many buyers arrive at the sale site early to lay claim to a position to get an entry number to be issued at 12:30 p.m. At 12:00 Noon, the outdoor tables will open for all to shop. With 100s of great items available, shoppers have fun rummaging through the boxes to find appealing deals while waiting for the building to open. At 1:00 pm, the Annex opens and shoppers are rewarded with more amazing treasures to grab. And, at 2:00 pm, the main building opens. Those shoppers with numbers enter in order of their numbers; others arrive simply when they can and stroll into the building. The sale is open until 7:00 pm so that those who have to work during the day can still make it to the sale.

On Saturday, the sale opens at 9:00 am. There are no numbers and Saturday shoppers are attracted to the thousands of items available. The people congestion is noticeably reduced, providing less crowded aisles and shorter checkout lines, and door prizes are mixed into the day. The doors close at 5:00 pm. Beginning at 1pm, Mr. Hatch will be holding the appraisal fair for all to attend.

On Sunday, October 16th, shoppers are lined up again to gain the earliest possible entry into the building for half-price shopping. The sale opens at 1:00 pm and runs until 5:00 pm. With so much available for sale, thousands of unsold great finds await Sunday deal seekers. And, Monday, October 17th, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, bargain day arrives with prices below half-price. The TEAM‚S mission is to empty the building, so the deals are exciting.

To reach the building, take I-26 to Exit 44, Mountain Home/Fletcher, and travel South 2 miles to the building. Parking is available at the Mountain Home Fire Dept. located across the street as well as in front of the building.
