Roberson rising junior J.D. Cook just got a jumpstart on his goal for the next two years of high school baseball.

Namely, winning more championships.

Cook was part of the Impact Baseball Dirtbags team that won the Impact 16 and under World Series over the holiday weekend. The tournament ran from Thursday to Monday and games took place at Durham Athletic Park, Elon, North Carolina and N.C. State.

Cook was the winning pitcher in a game played Friday and the left-hander came on in relief in the semifinals.

“This just gives me more confidence for next year,” Cook said.
