From the press release:
Registration is now open for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) prep classes offered in October by the Asheville Graduate Center. Classes will meet on the UNC Asheville campus.

The SAT prep class will meet from 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for three consecutive weeks, October 17-November 2. The SAT, required for admission to most undergraduate colleges and universities, employs multiple-choice questions designed to gauge verbal and mathematical abilities. The prep course will concentrate on test-taking techniques, timesaving methods and logical reasoning to prepare for the test, which will next be offered at area high schools on November 5. Cost for the prep class is $295 and includes study materials.

The GRE Prep course will meet from 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for four consecutive weeks, October 17-November 9. After the class officially ends at 8:30 p.m., the instructors stay another 30 minutes to help individual students with problem areas, and to give practice test items to those who want extra coaching and assistance. The course is designed to increase familiarity with the various types of verbal, quantitative and analytical questions presented on the newly revised GRE computer-generated general test, required by most graduate programs for admission. Students will also learn test-taking strategies and work with test-simulation exercises. Cost for the course is $375, which includes study materials and a practice CD.

The LSAT prep course will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for six consecutive weeks, beginning October 19. The LSAT is required for admission to all 196 LSAC (Law School Admission Council) member law schools. In UNC Asheville’s prep course, students will learn test-taking strategies and work with test-simulation exercises on analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, reading comprehension and writing samples. All class sessions will take place Wednesday evenings, except for the final class, held Tuesday, Nov. 22, to facilitate Thanksgiving travel and preparations. Cost for the course is $450, which includes textbooks, practice tests and a CD.
