Did you miss The War on Drugs at the Grey Eagle last week? The Dylan-esque, spaced-out, Petty-driven sounds of the new album, Slave Ambient, were recorded in part at Asheville's own Echo Mountain Recording Studio, and the album is charting like crazy (because it rules!). I have a biased opinion, of course, because I lent keys to several tracks on the effort, but the sentiment has become increasingly common. The folks at Harvest Records bring the Philly-based quartet to the mountains as often as possible, so be sure to catch The War On Drugs next time around.
