Asheville Citizen-Times reports on a partnership between the Buncombe County DA's office and the U.S. Attorney's office that will target violent crime, gang activity and drug trafficking:
...The new partnership is one of 10 across North Carolina funded through a grant from the Governor’s Crime Commission. [John] Pritchard was sworn in earlier this month.
While Pritchard will remain an assistant district attorney on Moore’s staff, his federal responsibilities include drafting charges, search and arrest warrants, complaints, motions and responses. He’ll also present cases to the grand jury and represent the government in U.S. courts in the Western District.
... He will work with other agencies to determine which cases should be prosecuted federally. ...
