The right lane of I-40 West at mile marker 29 near Canton in Haywood County is currently closed as crews work to repair damage to a bridge. The lane is not expected to reopen until Saturday afternoon. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area and should use the following alternate route:
Take Exit 31 to N.C. 215 South toward Canton. Turn right onto U.S. 19/23 South. After 4 miles, take a slight right to merge onto U.S. 74 East, following back to I-40 West. Read the full article
