From ECO:

ECO, the Environmental and Conservation Organization, will hold its Annual Meeting at Camp Green Cove in Zirconia on October 29 to celebrate its 24th anniversary in protecting Henderson County’s natural heritage. The special feature of this year’s Annual Meeting will be a performance by Hendersonville’s green goddesses, the Atomic Sisterhood, a local a cappella performance group that translates popular songs into environmental extravaganzas.

At the Annual Meeting, discussions will be held about ECO’s successes during the year, its plans for the future and the challenges ahead. Homemade finger food and local apple cider will be offered to all attendees. This year's Annual Meeting will be held in a beautiful slice of the Green River Valley at Camp Green Cove in Zirconia. The camp was founded in the mid-40's and moved to Lake Summit several years later. It will provide a beautiful backdrop for ECO to reflect on its mission and programming.

ECO’s Annual Meeting is open to members and non-members alike and will offer attendees an opportunity to learn about ECO’s committees that focus on protecting water quality, promoting green energy and sustainability, educating and advocating on recycling and advancing good environmental policies.

The meeting will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 2 PM. For those who want to join ECO on a nature walk before the meeting, a guided hike headed by Camp Green Cove's Caitlin Riley will begin at 1 PM to explore the unique natural history of this beautiful place. Finally, ECO has been offering a raffle since April of some excellent prizes which will be drawn at the meeting. It’s not too late to still buy a raffle to win the following:

1. Golf foursome at High Vista Country Club

2. Home energy audit from A Healthier Home
