Here's an announcement from Buncombe County Schools:

High school students from five area counties will receive training in business etiquette, making a great first impression, public speaking and other essential workplace skills at the annual Student Leadership Academy event at Biltmore.

The event is organized by the Asheville-Buncombe-Madison Career Pathways consortium in conjunction with Biltmore. More than 100 students were selected to attend from over 20 local high schools across a five-county area in western North Carolina.

Students will be participating in a series of interactive workshops during the morning led by representatives from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Blue Ridge Community College, and Biltmore. Workshop topics will include how to make the best first impression and ace an interview, professionalism and etiquette in the workplace, and tips on how to be an effective public speaker. Biltmore personnel will also be on hand to provide information about career opportunities through a mini Career Exposition, as well as to share details about the company’s internship and apprenticeship programs.

Following the morning session, students will have the opportunity to take a tour of Antler Hill Village with estate managers and staff. Activities will include: “Field to Table” presentation with the culinary team from Cedric’s Tavern; Outdoor Adventure Center program overview and Segway demonstration; and a Question & Answer session with the Antler Hill Barn and Farmyard staff.
