Clarification: The original post said the hacker collective Anonymous was targeting Moore. The comments targeting Moore come from Barrett Brown solely
According to a report on the Forbes technology blog, the hacker collective Anonymous has called off its campaign against the Zetas Mexican drug cartel, but hacker and writer Barrett Brown is targeting Buncombe County District Attorney Ron Moore:
A number of news sources, including the New York Times, have reported that the “online feud” between Anonymous and Los Zetas has ended. But as of the writing of this post, in a public chat hosted at Tinychat.com, Barrett Brown has said that while “ the Zeta names were called off,” he is “still going forward against targets of opportunity elsewhere.” One of those targets appears to be Ashville [sic], North Carolina District Attorney, Ron Moore.
In a tweet posted this morning, Brown wrote, “Those in Asheville, NC should watch movements of District Attorney Ron Moore at this time.”
For the last two days, Brown, who has taken the lead on what has been called OpCartel, has been claiming that a trove of emails obtained by Anonymous shows that a district attorney in the United States has been cooperating with Mexican drug cartels. Asked today by a questioner on Tinychat if Ron Moore is the district attorney to whom he has been alluding, Brown said, “Yes.”Read the full article

One of the reasons Buncombe County Commissioners denied funding URTV is the show produced by Dixie Barkdoll, "What's Really Going On In WNC?" Dixie exposed much corruption in our local Government and focused on the exploits of Ron Moore. Buncombe County turned their heads and covered their ears to these truths presented to them.
WHO ELSE IS CONNECTED TO THIS CORRUPTION or is it easier to count the ones not???

I never cared about taking credit for this evil man going down. All I wanted was to be there. If the public can connect what we have said to this article, maybe they will finally believe it. Thanks, Glolady

Better get Cecil Bothwell out of his political mode and back into his investigative journalist mode. Surprised he hasn't cracked this sooner.

Here's an interesting profile of the guy who's making claims about Ron Moore:
http://www.dmagazine.com/Home/D_Magazine/2011/April/How_Barrett_Brown_Helped_Overthrow_the_Government_of_Tunisia.aspx
And WLOS did at least a little bit of reporting on the matter today and talked to Moore. Here's what they said he said: "News 13 spoke with Moore this afternoon, and he says he has no connection to the cartels, and the accusations are completely false."

More on Moore's apparent accuser, Barrett Brown, who left Anonymous some months ago:

So he's really neither anonymous nor Anonymous.

Needs to be some evidence produced. This is a very serious criminal allegation against a sitting DA, and I think even for Mountain Express to publish this they should have a little more information to give us. Basically they are saying "Hey everybody someone on the internet says Ron Moore is involved with drug cartels". That's gossip, not journalism. Anyone on the internet can make any kind of allegation. You investigate first before you publish. I expect better from this newspaper.

Why do you assume that Mountain Express did not do some groundwork before they published the story?

So people actually think a group like this would incorrectly involve a DA from Asheville NC? Check the records of the groups accusations and you'll see they pretty much have all been true. It's not a surprise to anyone in this town under the age of 40, but of course the money that funnels into his pocket is mostly from much older folks who deem this as an internet joke. Times are changing and it gets harder to hide. He, among numerous others, will pay the piper here shortly.
Money can hide many things....and the only thing that has stopped this from being completely uncovered is numerous death threats these cartels continue to propose. Tick tock tick tock tick tock. I sure hope I hear a resignation coming...

Why is there SO much smoke swirling around Ron Moore?????
Are other DA's having this same ongoing smoke? Just askin.

If the forces that worked to take away the voice of the people was more concerned about the voice of the people ... more people would have come forward with evidence... Instead a smoke screen covered the real reason the people were silenced. GREED is not limited to money...
