Low turnout for early voting in Henderson County

Early voting turnout for the Nov. 8 election has been low, said Henderson County Director of Elections Beverly Cunningham, with only 319 ballots cast through Friday afternoon.

“It’s actually been very slow,” she said Friday as her staff continued to prepare for the big day Tuesday. “Everything has gone fine. We’re way ahead of where we are normally because of how slow it’s been.” Voters have few decisions to make this November, as only municipal elections will be decided Tuesday. Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Early voting ended Saturday, and no one will be able to vote today or Monday. Read the full article
