FROM ELIADA:
Once again this year, Eliada seeks families, businesses, churches, and other groups who are interested in sponsoring needy children and adolescents for the Christmas holidays. Sponsors can elect to shop from "wish lists" that the children create, or give a cash donation that Eliada will use to purchase gifts for individual students.
Wish lists contain information like the child's favorite color, clothing sizes, hobbies, and most needed/wanted items. Each sponsor is asked not to spend more than $150 to ensure that gifts are equitable amongst the children.
Students who receive gifts are needy youth from Eliada's residential, foster care, and day treatment programs, as well as some from the child development center.
"The individuals and businesses who sponsor children for the holidays are so important to us," said Eliada CEO Mark Upright. "It's not only the gifts that the children in our care appreciate, it's also the kindness and generosity they feel from the sponsors. It's what the holiday season is all about."
Anyone interested in sponsoring a child should contact Eliada's Development office by calling 828.254.5356 x 303 or emailing alee@eliada.org.
