Last weekend, November 4-6, hundreds of students from around the Southeast attended the Southeast Student Renewable Energy Conference at UNC Asheville to talk about how to replace coal and nuclear with green power and conservation. Over 300 students made plans for clean energy campaigns to call on Obama to stop the Keystone XL pipeline, but more importantly to show collective power for clean energy. The last day of the conference, the students hit the streets here in Asheville to march, chant and rally.
On Wednesday, November 9, Asheville Green Drinks will host a panel of UNC Asheville students who will talk about the event, including issues that came up and the proposals that emerged from the conference.
Presenter: Elizabeth Goyer, Co-President of ASHE, a student-run organization dedicated to raising environmental awareness in the UNC Asheville community, will lead a panel with other UNCA students who attended the conference.
Socializing: 5:30PM Program: 6:00PM
Location: Posana Cafe, 1 Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville
