Here's the info from the North Carolina Republican Party email newsletter:
Dear Friend,
The end of the year is quickly approaching, and with your help, it will end with a bang. The 15th Biennial Hall of Fame Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 19th at the Embassy Suites in Cary. We hope you can join us as we honor those who have dedicated themselves to building up the North Carolina Republican Party.
The North Carolina Republican Party’s Hall of Fame was established in 1982 and became a biennial awards event in 1985. Since 1985, in odd-numbered years, the NCGOP recognizes one individual from each Congressional District who has demonstrated a commitment to the North Carolina Republican Party through their years of work and service. There will also be three statewide awards presented, including: the Charles Raper Jonas Award, the J.E. Broyhill Award, and the John P. East Memorial Award.
This year, we are proud to have Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli of Virginia serving as the event’s keynote speaker. Mr. Cuccinelli is leading the charge against Obamacare and the unconstitutionality of the individual mandate. His insight into this important and timely issue will be an added delight to what will be an outstanding event.

In addition to recognizing t
he outstanding contributions to the party, the Hall of Fame serves as the premier fundraiser for the North Carolina Republican Party heading into the 2012 election cycle. With President Obama set to raise $1 Billion for his re-election, it is important that the NCGOP be equipped with the resources needed to outsmart and outmaneuver his operatives.
Additionally, we have decided to host the official “North Carolina Republican Party Straw Poll” during the evening. This will be the first real test for candidates to gauge their level of support amongst members of the NCGOP. The poll will feature the Presidential candidates as well as select Congressional and Statewide races. If you have any questions regarding Hall of Fame or the Straw Poll, please contact Jennifer Behr at (919) 828-6423 or behr@ncgop.org.
The Hall of Fame allows you to interact with the best the Republican Party has to offer. Nominees for the 2011 Awards are listed below. This year’s event is sure to be a great success, and by taking part in this special event, you become a part of our victory. We look forward to seeing you on November 19th!
Sincerely,
