Asheville, NC – The City of Asheville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Martin Luther King Jr. Park playground on Thursday, November 17 at 4 p.m. at 50 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
A new 2,400 square foot playground was recently completed as part of the Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department’s initiative to upgrade its aging playground inventory. The new play equipment was selected for its challenging play components and dynamic appeal. Nearly all of the 19 play components are accessible and can accommodate up to 30 users for unrestricted freeform play. Complementing the new equipment are two sandboxes and a series of recycled plastic benches and picnic tables. The play equipment was manufactured by Playworld Systems.
