Want to head to sunny Orlando this Friday? Well, residents of the area are invited to pack their bags for a chance to win a trip. Friday, November 18, the first-ever “Hey, Tacky Tourists - Pack Your Bags!” contest will be held at Asheville Regional Airport, and one lucky person will win a trip for four to Florida on the inaugural Allegiant flight from Asheville to Orlando, which departs at 6:45pm.

Those who plan to enter the contest must arrive at Asheville Regional Airport on Friday, November 18 by 3pm to register (watch for event parking signs). The winner of the three-day trip will be able to bring up to three friends or family members with them for the long-weekend getaway, and all must arrive together at the airport, packed and ready to board a plane for a three night stay in the sunshine state.

The inaugural flight will depart at 6:45pm on Friday, November 18, and the winner of the “Pack Your Bags” trip will receive round-trip airline tickets for four, a three-night stay at the World Center Marriott, Orlando (one room), as well as four tickets to LEGOLAND®. (All other trip expenses, not limited to checked bag fees, ground transportation, insurance, meals and other ancillary costs, are the responsibility of the winner.) The return flight will arrive in Asheville on Monday, November 21 at 7:40pm.

To make the contest even more fun, all participants who come to the airport dressed as “tacky tourists” will be eligible to double their chances of winning by entering their name an additional time in the contest.

“Who doesn’t want to win a free trip?” said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., airport director at Asheville Regional Airport. “This contest is a great way to highlight the new non-stop flight from Asheville to Orlando/Sanford on Allegiant, and also to help the region understand that Allegiant is truly a travel company, offering excellent package deals to the Orlando area. Entries into the contest will be accepted between 3pm and 4:30pm on Friday, November 18 at Asheville Regional Airport’s main lobby near the art gallery. Those entering the contest must be at least 21 years old (travel guests of the winner may be under 21 years old). The winner will be drawn at 4:45pm, following a brief inaugural flight celebration, and then the winner and travel guests will immediately check-in to board the plane bound for sunny Orlando.

Restrictions: There is a limit of one registration per person, or two registrations for each person who arrives at registration dressed as a “tacky tourist,” people must be present and 21 years of age or older to win. Airfare is valid for travel Nov. 18, 2011 and Nov. 21, 2011 on Allegiant and between Ashville Regional Airport (AVL) and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) only. Prize is non-transferable.
