Western Carolina University dance students dubbed the WCU Rockettes not only will perform in the Asheville Holiday Parade on Saturday, Nov. 19, but also take the stage the night before at the Asheville Lyric Opera’s annual Christmas show.
Their numbers at the parade, which begins at 11 a.m. in downtown Asheville, will include “Suzy Snowflake,” “Happy Holidays,” “Winter Wonderland” and “Boogie Woogie Santa Claus,” as well as “Nothing Could Be Finer” in tune with the parade’s “Days Gone By” theme.
At the Christmas show, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Diana Wortham Theater in Asheville and features a variety of musicians and vocalists, they will dance to a medley titled “Happy Holidays/The Holiday Season.” ...
