From the press release:
The U.S. Small Business Administration today announced it will hold a small business forum in August in Asheville, geared toward U.S. military veterans and their spouses; and active duty, guard and reserve members who own or are interested in starting a small business.
The forum, co-sponsored by the Veterans Business Outreach Center in Fayetteville, will consist of a series of panel discussions covering such topics as starting a small business, financing a small business, tax issues, and strategies for growing a small business. Panelists include various small business experts from the Western North Carolina area as well as visiting speakers from the VBOC in Fayetteville and the IRS in Charlotte.
The forum takes place on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, with sign-in and continental breakfast at 8 a.m., and the three panel sessions running consecutively until 12 noon. The venue is the lower-level conference room at the Grove Arcade, located at One Page Avenue in downtown Asheville. With parking available at the Wall Street parking deck and in metered parking spaces, attendees are asked to access the building only from the Page Avenue entrance to the arcade on the morning of the event.
Attendance is free of charge. However, due to space limitations, registration is required. Interested parties may contact Lisa Belcher at the VBOC at (910) 672-2683 or via email at lbelche1@uncfsu.edu on or before Tuesday, August 9.
