Mitchell County Gay Straight Alliance learned ahead of time that there would be protestors to its first public meeting — which was held at the County Library in downtown Bakersville. A supporter of the group produced this video interview of the protestors, as well as the meeting organizers. It's advocacy journalism, but it's respectful.

please be careful, GSA. These protestors seem extremely ignorant as well as unintelligent. And stupid people, when they cannot comprehend things, deal with that through violence.

Helen....you make a leap in your assumptions that the citizens of Bakersvill who came out to express concern with the GSA agena are stupid or ignorant. When people have a different viewpoint or core belief, it is abnormal for one to suggest that "violence" would be a "solution" to solve such differences. This show ignorance, could be considered by professionals, as a defect in intelligence. I am curious to know what your souce of information has been in forming you opinions. Dr. Rosy

Here's a working link to the video from the night of our first meeting. There have been some suggestions that this video was produced by the Mitchell County Gay Straight Alliance. It was made independently by one of our supporters but is not an official video of our group.
