From the Press Release
MusicWorks! Studio of Performing Arts is excited to announce performances of their holiday show; Barbara Robinson’s delightful family comedy, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. There will be two performances: 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2nd at Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, and
7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3rd at the auditorium of Canton Middle School.
Everyone agreed that the six Herdman kids were the worst kids in the world. They lied, they stole, they hit little kids, they talked dirty, and even the girls smoked cigars. Sunday school was a safe haven for the other children because the Herdmans never went there. But when the Herdmans show up one Sunday looking for chocolate cake, cookies, and candy, they hear about the Christmas pageant and decide they want to take part. To the dismay of everyone involved, the Herdmans land the main parts in the play! Although everyone expects a disaster, the Herdmans bring a fresh interpretation to the Christmas story, a story they had never heard before. You won't believe the mayhem-and the fun-when the Herdmans meet the Christmas story in a head-on collision!
The production showcases the onstage talent of 68 local children ages 4 - 18 who will take the stage in what promises to be a charming, laugh filled presentation of family entertainment suitable for all ages. Cast members include Marleigh Meadows as “Beth Bradley”, Javan Delozier as “Charlie Bradley”, Crystal Mashburn as “Grace Bradley, and Brooks Robinson as “Father”, The Herdman children include: Sophia Fox (Fri) and Emily Patten (Sat) as “Imogene”, Amanda Caroline McCall (Fri) and Roselyn Lasley (Sat) as “Gladys”, Cade Leslie as “Ralph”, Keely Cherry as “Claude”, Anna Wood as “Ollie”, and Madison Stewart as “Leroy”. The show also features the acting talents of Marina Battenfeld, Mera Ring, Kayden Cox, Sebastian Quigley, Leah Rogers, Sydney Lyles, Cooper Richardson, Kara White, Lily Paschke, Madison Gosnell, Patra Grasty, and Katherine Webb. The show is being directed by Miss Adriane Howard with production assistance by Lynne Wells-Meyer and Shelia Sumpter.
