A change in operations at the Buncombe County Landfill may extend its life by as much as five years, county officials say, potentially saving millions of dollars.
Earlier this year, landfill workers switched from using 6 inches of soil to cover new trash to spraying a commercial product that’s similar to stucco on the garbage.
