Full announcement from the Asheville Police Department:
ASHEVILLE – On 11-27-11 at approx. 0248 hours, APD Patrol Officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision at the intersection of South Market St. and Biltmore Ave. wherein an older model Lincoln had crashed into a concrete barrier.
Upon arrival, witnesses advised that after the collision, the suspect got out of the vehicle, discharged a handgun multiple times, and then ran on foot towards S. Beaumont St.
Officer Justin Booth located the suspect near the garage area of the Public Works facility and pursued the suspect on foot. While in pursuit, Officer Booth heard what he thought was the suspect throwing something heavy and metallic into the bed of a fleet truck.
Suspect was taken into custody and a 9mm handgun was indeed located nearby in the bed of a fleet vehicle. The semi-automatic handgun had jammed on the suspect as he had fired the weapon.

Mr. Flack was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Facility and held on a $6,000 dollar secured bond.
