...New Belgium President Kim Jordan, a company brewer and another representative are expected to be in the city Dec. 7, said Tim Schaller, owner of Wedge Brewing Co. and president of the Asheville Brewers Alliance.
“We are going to have a beer with them,” Schaller said. “Beyond that, I don’t know what it means.” If one or more major craft breweries builds here, that “would be good for beer tourism and for beer in general,” he said.
The chance that either New Belgium or Sierra Nevada might build in Western North Carolina seems strong, said Oscar Wong, owner and founder of Highland Brewing Co., Asheville’s largest brewery. “I would say that landing both is highly unlikely, but I would expect one of them would choose Asheville, and we would welcome that,” he said.Read the full article
